My friend and I saw you a little over a year ago at B.B Kng's club in Manhattan for the 40th anniversary of Hendrix's birthday I believe.
I had heard of you many times but, had never seen you perform live in a concert.
After several tribute artists had played, you came out last with your band.
For whatever reason...i wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary ....just wanted to be entertained. Well.....it goes without saying that your performance that night was other-worldly.!!! I was blown away by your ability to create sounds live, that I thought could only created in the studio ! And....most important....you played all the very hard technical tunes that NOBODY.....and I mean NOBODY would even try. I have seen ALL the all-time great artists....both band and individual.....and never ever been so totally amazed as I was the night I saw you play at B.B. king's.....The opening to All Along the Watchtower is one of the most amazing things I have ever heard........from anybody!
A year or two later...my friend and I still talk about your performance that night in almost religious terms......and will do so for many years to come I am sure. Very glad I got to experience a night like that before I die.....
Is that performance on that night on CD or DVD ??....I am wanting to experience that magic night again and again....... wink

Dear Frank,
It is the first time I have the chance to write you a message...I have seen you in 1977-78 on a show on American TV while I was in OHIO for a year as an exchange student...When I saw Your Playing,I instantly felt in Love with your Music !!!And I bought this Live Black Album (you were playing on stage"A new Rocknroll" or "Johnny.be.Good",I can't remember well exactly and when I got back to France,I told all my Friends about You and made them listen to this Famous Album (even if some stupid journalist said in the Press that it was an Hendrix covering album),I really don't agree with them at all and all my friends neither. After that I bought all your albums and became your first French Fan.I was playing drums at that time and because of you,I learned how to play guitar and went into that Blues Stuff you always have played .

Hello Frank,Ive been a fan since around 1974 or 75 .We saw you around 76 in fla. might have been lakeland civic center. We worked our way up to the stage in front of your mic stand.A dude in front of us was pulling your mike cord, pulling the stand closer to the edge of the stage. You were singing and playing so you could not pull the stand back,,and this dude kept pulling the cord and stand toward the edge of the stage,,so we looked at each other and at the same time ,hit him in the head and knocked him out,,he left the mike stand alone after that. And you played the next tune right in front of us and played a killer solo ,might have been Purple haze,,,we were 2 dudes with long black hair, about 17 at the time, which probably dosent tell you much, lol .Anyway the concert was great everyone in the band was killer, loved the keyboads on Strange Universe! I have original copies 2,3,4,5 Lps Still listen to them!Peace,Ray

One early December night at the Corona Theater, along with about 700 other fans of guitar, in the company of my then early 20's year old son, I finally got to listen to my teen age hero live. Being myself from Rosemount where he grew up, everyone in the hood who knew anything about a six stringer wanted to master it like Mr. Marino. I shall never see a better concert again. Hope a future DVD will contain a really good version of All Along The Watchtower.
