Just saw Frank in Alexandria, Va for the first time since Saint Anthony's Day at the Auditorium Theatre in Rochester, NY in the late 70's. He amazed me that he still plays so well. Ranked with Jeff Beck of the 3 Yardbyrd guitarists, John McLaughlin, Al DiMeola all legends still presently playing with the power and dedication that made them legends in the first place. Frank my sincere respect for allowing me to re-live my past and create a new one for the future. Also my hat goes off to you for keeping yourself in very good shape. While watching you in Alexandria, sober I will add, I went back to that Night at the Auditorium Theatre in the late 70's experiencing my first real trip watching trails flail(if that's a real word)from your guitar and fingers alternating my vision upwards to the angular artistry that beheld the corners on both sides of that massive arch which enshrined the stage. When things got real heavy in those theatre corners I would bring my attention back to the stage. I remembered my friend telling me during Strange Universe that "This should be The World Anthem!" and me nodding in total agreement. That theatre thundered and vibrated from Mahogany Rush and I never forgot it. I am an artist currently selling my work at various tours and festivals throughout the States. When I was getting that signiture on the bus in Alexandria I hadn't been home since June 4th. I've currently been doing this for the last 23 years. I've seen tons of music since June and a vast array of musicians and bands. The November 2nd Mahogany Rush show was my favorite this summer/fall season. I hope you will consider doing festivals in the states. All Good in Masontown W.V., Moedown in Herkimer, N.Y., Summer Camp in IL., WANEE in Live Oak, FL. which is an Allman Brothers event which this past spring hosted the Allmans, Widespread Panic(containing Jimmy Herring who is playing Nov. 20 - 21 w/John McLaughlin, Return to Forever's Lenny White among others at the Lincoln Theatre in Raliegh NC), Johnny Winter, Hot Tuna and more. These festivals draw anywhere up to 20,000 or more people. Alot of young people who are open to all kinds of music attend these festivals and it would be a great opportunity to share your music , gain exposure and regenerate your fan base. I've been traveling around for years with cassettes containing your music I had recorded from the many Mahogany Rush LP's I've purchased over the years. And though I listed World Anthem as my favorite LP(because of the flow of the Requiem side), The Bird Has Flown into Tales of The Unexpected is a favorite listen along with Strange Universe (off course) and The Emperor IV. There's alot of stuff on Eye Of The Storm(some reminisant of Ozric Tentacle's "The Throbbe"), that I'm just starting to get familiar with that could definately gain favorite status. I didn't know if I'd like the restructuring during Strange Universe but I think I actually like what I heard in Alexandria better.
Again, thanks for playing. The band was amazing! Long Live Mahogany Rush!
