I remember when i was seven or eight (1977,1978) and my father(a blues rock guitar player) went to see Ritchie Blackmores Rainbow in San Antonio TX with somme buddies and bought some discs to the house, one of them called Tales from the Unexpected. Since then i know of Frank and his amazing music and he played; along with Ritchie and others ; a big part on my decision to do music. Thanks Frank and also my dad's too. Also i have to say that Eye of the Storm is one of the best guitar records ever released on Earth.

long-time fan, since about '76 or so, and still enjoy the music today. I've been a bassist for 20 yrs. now, and learned a lot of Paul's licks off the records when I was "learning the hard way".

That's a trick question- favorite album? I saw Cgallowspole's Sign in, and hellfire I was there at the 1st Texas Jam also. He is damned right ON about Aerosmith's performance, but he left out one thing about your's It was incendiary! Like him we were ready to leave after cooking all day long and being punished by Aerosmith, but we sat and were just mystified by your power and playing . . . simply fantastic ! Have been a BIG fan ever since !

favorite album ? impossible to answer correctly ! Caught Frank for the first time at the first TEX(X)AS Jam back in '78,we were sooo close to leaving after frying in the Texas sun,and suffering through Aerosmith's drugged out crappy performance, but so did alot of others. We made our way back to better seats and were so damned impressed with Frank's sheer prowess on guitar. To this day me and my buddy who went with me talk about that show (Frank's) simply ridiculous it was so impressive! Have been a true Marinohead ever since! "Man at the backdoor"> JEEZ

I was at a cousin's place many years ago, rifling through her collection. One album caught my eye.It was black with the words Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush-Live.I had no idea who Frank Marino was or what Mahogany Rush meant.I'm embarassed to say i nicked it but i soon found out later it was well worth the shame. What i heard was a guitar player ahead of his time. This album stands as one of the greatest ever with an under-rated and under-appreciated guitar player. The World Anthem was a teriffic climax to an incredible album.

hey willy. i just went thru the whole site. what a guy you are bro! this site rox as much as frank! thanx for putting in so much time and effort into a very worthwhile venture! btw, i was at that show in '74 at the agora ballroom and had an excellent recording from the radio (wmms). it was on a monday nite and you had to be 18 to get in (a bar). i was 15. with very long hair and sideburns and all, a fake id (remember? they didn't have pix on them way back then!), it was never a problem to go see my favorite musician at all the clubs he played at. he played cleveland so much - and we always got there early for front row - my hearing is impaired for life! not to mention having a 'tweaked' stereo system at the time! i sure do miss having my ears ringing for three days after a show! ok, to frank and willy and everyone(willy/everyone, yall help persuade frank), please put out a raw, in your living room is fine, acoustic album! and get on the road! at least ocassionally. i haven't seen ya since 1980 in johson city, tn. wow! that's a long time! love to all ps~my fave album will change everytime i leave a msg! hard to have a fave, just 'top 100'!
