I usd to listen to the Mahogany Rush Live album when I was a young kid in High School. I played guitar and always wanted to play like Jimi or Frank. I also got stoned and sort of faded any dream of becoming a pro by doing so. However, I always dreamed I would be a pro. To tell the truth, I don't know what happened. I eventually gave up and started working for a living. 17 years later I got my old guitar and cabinet back (not amp because my father sold it) and now I am 39. My wife said, "why don't you start back at it?" So I bought an Ibanez Head and Boss Multi Effect Unit and started looking for the old guitarist that I used to love on the internet. Here, I am at Frank Marino's web site. American guy living in Japan for 14 years and looking to get back into the music I love. Thanks, Neal

I discovered Frank Marino as a teenager in the late 80's, listening to my friend's older brother's record collection. I was immediately floored, and recorded "I'm a King Bee" and "Jhonny B. Goode" from "California Jam 2" to a cassette I actually wore out. After that, I dilligently spread the Frank gospel to all my (then)Warrant-loving friends! I know a few were converted! Thanks

I don't really have just ONE favorite album - I have 4 that are all good. Child of the Novelty, Strange Universe, Mahogany Rush IV, Mahogany Rush Live. Actually, I 1st heard Frank on the radio one summer night in 1972. I was blown away. I listened very carefully for a long time to find out just WHO this was. The DJ finally said it was Mahogany Rush. I immediately was on a "tear" to find the album - I think it was "Child of the Novelty". I LOVE the way that Frank plays, of course being a guitarist myself, I would. Much to my disappointment, I have only seen Frank LIVE, in concert, 3 times. When I play blues I do have my own screamin' style HOWEVER my appreciation of Frank can be detected in my notes and phrasing. AND just one more thing, something that maybe a few will find to be an interesting coincidence - my birthday is November 14, 1953. NOW, if I could just get all of my 4 favorite Marino albums on CD I would be a much happier guy. Frank, thanks for all the great music.

Frank, It is an honor to sign your guest book. I have been a fan since the early 80's. I had the pleasure of catching you live at The Chance in Poughkeepsie, NY in the 80's and got to stand right in front of you, I was totally blown away. You are so fast on the neck I couldn't believe my eyes. I currently play an Ibanez PF 200 but my dream is to own an SG custom. When are you coming back to NY? I'm hoping to catch you again. Thank You for the great vibes. PEACE.

I saw MR live twice in the 70's. October, 76 opening for BOC in Louisville, Ky, and another time the following year where they headlined. Loved MR, World Anthem the only album I ever owned.

On your links page, your 'Canadian Rock' leads nowhere. That's supposed to be CanadianBands.com or CanConRox. Proper url is http://www.canadianbands.com Thanx and have a great day.

I was turned on to Frank in the early 70's by my brother. I was fortunate to see Frank live in the late 70's in Calgary. Any time I need a pickup I listen to the Live cd and the world just seems better. I would love to see you live again... We are waiting.

Tough call between World Anthem and Strange Universe; great writing on both, but nice jazz touch on the World Anthem...very cool it was translated into so many languages!
