How could I choose a favorite album? The most amazing music to "not" hit mainstream and touch my ears. Sometimes I think musicians are lucky to not hit mainstream to be able to play what they want. Wish it helped your bank. Hope to see you live one day! Keep checking back for

Hi Frank

Absolutely incredible talent, I can't convey the respect and admiration for your music. I first heard Dragon Fly when I was 17 in 1979 and was blown away, why your not on the top of all time guitarists like Hendrix is criminal... Come to Nanaimo would definately buy tickets!!

I also forgot to say...I was VP of our graduating class of 1979, and few of us wanted to walk to something other than the pomp and circumstance..So, we had a friend bring his reel to reel, and our class walked the procession to the cranked out live version of "World Anthem"...at the end of the song loop, we stood there with our hands held hi, smiling and whooping it up! We blew that stadium and crowd away. Thanks Frank and MR! Great times!

Hey Frank and Mahogany Rush..Thanks you so much for all the great years of power rock. I have been listening to your music since the mid 70's, and grew up with you, even drawing pictures of you and your band. I still have people asking who you are when they see the drawings. Funny how many fans I've turned on to your music. Love your many albums, your fantastic guitar work, and the lyrics you write have always been stirring..namly "Stories of a Hero"..Thanks for giving us all many great memories, and we want to see you in the Seattle area again! I'm 53 now, and still crank your music so all my rural neighbors can hear...Rock on!

Hi Frank!! I remember the first time I saw you was at Place des Nations back in the early 70's, really cant remember the whole show! I was very young wink. I saw you again in 87 at the Miller music fest in parc Jarry, you were on the same bill as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jim Zeller played a Doors song with you that night, great concert. I also remember that Stevie Ray came on late because he had attended his father's funeral that day, and he dedicated the concert to his father's memory! He probably gave the best performance of his career that night. Best wishes! Bob Brown [ AKA Wildkat ]. cool

First heard your music in 1979 and was immediately impressed. Sure I was stoned then, but that underscores the power of your music that it could cut its way through my stupor. I think it is unfair to say you are a Hendrix clone because I think your music, if you actually sit down and listen to it, is very unique. People must remember that back then anyone who picked up a guitar was immediately a Hendrix clone (poor Robin Trower). If I were forced to offer an opinion, I think your musical dynamics were/are as cutting edge as Tommy Bolin's. Keep the faith!

Have been a HUGE fan since Maxoom and got to see you only twice, once at Alberta Jam July 29th 1979 at Calgary Speedway with Pat Travers, Cheap Trick, Jay Ferguson (Jo Jo Gunne), Elvin Bishop, Charlie Daniels and Frank was by far the best there (Travers coming in 2nd).
My 2nd time was at the Omni in Oakland Calif. on July 12th, 1986 with Mr. Big backup (Billy Sheehan-Paul Gilbert). You absolutely smoked that bar out and it was great to see you play with your bro Vince.
I was disappointed to see that you aren't touring with Uli Jon Roth and Yngwie Malmsteen on the Rock Gods North American tour this year (coming to Richmond BC.) because it's been 28 years since I've seen you live and hoped you'd finally be coming out to the Vancouver area after oh so long. I can still hope though!!!!!
And Frank, you have finally made it mainstream!!!!! I was watching the last play-off hockey game on May 16th between Anaheim Ducks and LA Kings and with a whistle at 1:52 remaining in the game what do I hear on the PA was STRANGE DREAMS!!!! I thought I was having a "strange dream" and thankfully I had PVR so I could replay it to make sure. Sure enough, it was you Frank and just after they had played Hendrix at the previous whistle. Every time time I hear that cymbal and those first ringing chords, it gives me goosebumps and a tear in my eye.I have never heard you anywhere like that, maybe there's a car commercial in the future, eh lol. I have to send the DJ at Honda Centre in Anaheim a big TY. How fitting is that. Two Rock Gods playing at a hockey play-off game in Southern Cali.
As soon as that music started playing, the crowd got on their feet....yahooo!!!!!
TY for your music and inspiration and please-please-please make an old hippie fart happy and come out to Vancouver next time you go to the west coast of US.....

Hey Frank,

I'll keep this brief. I'm sure you're a busy man. I've been a fan for at least 30 years and I've still never see you live. Please put together something and go out on the road. Your fans are crazy for your music and we stop at nothing to tell the world that you are a superlative musician. Critics be damned, but even they're starting to get the message and many of them who grew up on your music are writing nationally. In short, the love is so there for you. You are respected and admired by an army of adoring guitar fans.

Much love to you always and know that you have a hardcore fan in Hartford, Conn. who is waiting to experience your musical might.

I remember when I first heard you back in the 70's and was floored by your guitar work. Land of 1000 Nights and Tales of the Spanish Warrior were songs way before their time. Glad to see you are still playing and as a guitar player myself, I still play along with your music! All Along the Watchtower, the live version from 1979 still has me listening to it! The riffs are just awesome!
Rock On!

I was listening on the WEB in the shop and a couple of young co-workers heard the
music. They asked who is that? I told them and their response was 'Never heard of Frank or M.R. But, they liked the music and will check it out. The new generation missed so much and have a lot to catch up on.

Hi Frank, I´ve been a big fan of you since i first heard Live 78. A freind of mine bought that album and we listen to it a lot. After many years I succeeded to get a new copy of it and listen to it every once in a while. Still thinks it´s an awesome record. I was 18 years old and tried to play along with my Fenderstrat 69 wich I also still have. Good things never die they only get better. Happy to see that you still are making good music. Rock on// Tommy

The song "Tales of the Unexpected" is one of those timeless cool pieces of music. I first heard it on a small rock/blues/jazz station KFMH, back in 1979. I bought the album and it became one of my references for comparison of equipment and for speaker placement. If I went to the audio store to audition equipment, that album was one of those that went with me. For me, it's in the same category as Joe Walsh's "Turn to Stone" and Robin Trower's "Bridge of Sighs" - great music that ties me to a time in my life and which is still relevant today.
