i first saw mahogany rush in the winter of 1977.that was back in the day when at every concert you just openly rolled your joints, smoked your joints, and shared your joints..... with signs posted every were that read (THIS IS NOT A HAVEN FOR DRUG USE). I saw alot of great shows back then all the big name groups that came to louisvlle ky. As i look back now at 48 years old as i talk about all great bands i had seen to friends young and old, the best to this day on a winters night in freedom hall louisville ky was FRANK MARINO and MAHOGANY RUSH......buzz on dragon fly.

I belive the live cut was recorded At Winterland in San Francisco in the late 70's... I was there or at least my body was...lol he kicked ass! Funny thing I just stumbled onto his website today after all these years and whats funny there is alot of people that never heard of him..there lost ! The live cut brings back some good flash backs!

I first heard you on, i think it was on the mid-night special. I liked your verion of Johnny B Good. I found the live 8 track and wore it out. I looked a long time and finally found the cd in an little music store in San Marcos, Texas, I play it often. I heard on our classic rock radio station advertise your up coming appearence in San Antonio, Texas. They gave our web site and found out you have alot more music that I did not know about. I have listened to some of your music on your web site, I want to get some more cd's

i remember frank marino & mahoghany rush from the mid 70's . he use to play quite a bit in san antonio. best concert i saw him was the godz,mahoghany rush and judas priest yup those were the good ole acid days. not many folks have hward of frank marino but you're never pass up the oppurtunity to see him. gonna check him out in cadillac bar in s.a. small place so i better get my tickets soon.

I met Frank the first time at "Place des Nations" in Montreal during a group competition in 1970 or 71. We also had some discussion with his manager which was very cute. I was a competitor (the name of our group was ODE and most of our musical was based on Jethro Tull) but, of course, Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush won. At that time, we were sure that Frank was a reincarnation of Hendrix. Since that day, I always followed him because I was sure that Frank was there for a while.

I can't believe I never listened to MR before. I have been into Blues/Rock guitarists/bands since the '60's and I thought I knew all of the greats. Saw Led Zeppelin and Hendrix in Seattle way back in the day. Frank Marino you are an amazing guitarist! MR is awesome. Hopefully I will see you live someday.

In 1978 I saw Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush in Seattle when I was a mere 14 years old. I was amazed and my ears rang for 3 days. Bought the 78 Live album and still play it to this day.
I'm hoping to catch his show, thrty years later, here in San Antonio this August.
