smile I went through school trying my best to understand why Van Halen was considered the best guitarist. Not even a close second to Frank. I used to carry the Live Album and What's Next around with me. Still makes me laugh thinking about. From a 30+ year fan. You Rock Frank. A good friend of mine just sent me 8 CD's to Afghanistan and I have not stopped listening to them yet. I miss my Live 78 album though. Can't wait to get home and listen to. God bless, Alfredo Chavez Rockin' in Afghanistan

I saw you in Columbus, OH in 1975 or '76 opening with Status Quo for Brian Auger. I have become reacquainted with you recently on my XM radio. You have moved right up the list of artists I would like to see live. I will be on vacation when you you play in Cleveland on July 15, 2008 but will look for other dates that are close to central Ohio. There is a great outdoor venue in Columbus. The Lifestyles Pavilion holds about 3500 people in a little outdoor amphitheater. Tremendous natural sound that would suit your playing very well. Hope to see you soon.

Back in the 80s in the UK it was a real struggle to distinguish Mahogany Rush from the Canadian band Rush. everybody seemed to get confused ! especially after Rush had their huge first UK hit with "Spirit of Radio"

No not Rush , Mahogany Rush !! I lost count the number of times that was said in record shops and live music venues !!

I was blown away by Frank around 1980 in El Paso, Texas. Since then he's been like one of those old friends you can count on to come through for you even if you don't see him for a couple of years. The music is still great and like all of the best guitarists he has his own sound that is instantly recognizable.

Frank! How have you been man!!!
Now this is weird, cause I was really into your stuff in the 70's and 80's. I used to sit in my room and put your records on and play along the best I could...lol! I pulled out your stuff today (Tales of the Unexpected) and was asking myself why I haven't listened in so long. Well, I'll be listening alot more in the future, and oh yeah....when are you coming to HOUSTON???
P.S. Where did you meet that "woman" in Texas anyway?
Take care friend, and ya'll come see us real soon!

I first heard Frank's version of Purple Haze as a freshman attending U of Illinois 30+ years ago. I thought then and still believe now that it's even better than the original by Jimmy.

Absolutely awesome!

The Whats Next Album is extremely cool, such fun Rock and Roll that you dont hear on the radio---too bad. I must admit I know very little about Franks work since then. Maybe somebody can recommend something. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame--is that the coolest Rock and Roll Guitar song imaginable or what? God this guy has a talent for playing guitar-----bottom line is that his stuff is the stuff that I would play if only I could. Talk about a God given talent. .

Hi Frank,

I am from Boulder CO but my band will also be playing Club Infinity, our tribute to Jethro Tull show there on June 28th. I flipped when I saw you'd be there and I cannot get out there then to see you...shit!
How about a show in Colorado? Let me know if you need help with bookings there.

Best wishes and hope to see you down the road. Thanks for all the great music, my man.

I bought my first Mahogany Rush album in 1974 and have been a fan of him and his music since. I just started playing the guitar again after 35 years of not playing and I hope to someday in the not so distant future to be able to play something like Frank. I know I will never reach the level he is at but just to be able to play like him would be a dream come true(along with someday actualy getting to meet him). Please e-mail me if he is ever going to be playing in the Boston Massachusettes area. He is one guitarist I would deffenitly love to see live. Thanks for all the Music , Your fan Jay.
