Thank you for a lifetime of happiness. I saw Mahogany Rush open for Nazareth in Atlanta, Georgia in 1978.you immediately became my favorite band and have remained so ever since. You blew Nazareth away! Mr. Marino became my favorite guitarist that night and inspired me to learn to play. Fo4 that, thank you.

I first hear you and Mahogany Rush at my high school in the early 1970s. I think I saw you in TMR Montreal, where I grew up. Maybe walking a dog? I have always loved your playing, and Hendrix is my favorite guitarist. I ran into you guys once in a store in TMR. Are you still touring?

Trying to purchase Live at the Agora Theater, is it still available for purchase? Paypal doesn't seem to be cooperating for a transaction/purchase to take place.. Big fan Mr. Marino! You're the chosen one of the six string! Any info would be helpful..

Mister Marino,
Dude, you rock! Your tone crushes it!
I bought your Real Live! album on iTunes & it takes me back to when, as a teenage Texan, I saw you & MR with Rush in Dallas in 1979 or '80 ???
Are you going to tour again? If so, please come to Portland, Oregon.
I don't know if you answer messages, but I have a question? I recently picked up the guitar at 55 yrs. old & have the goal to play what I like..music that sounds/ feels good.
Should I learn to read music as I learn the mechanics of the fret-board? I need time-in-the -saddle & as a lefty, most stuff is for right-handed players. What would you say to an old-fart beginner like me?

It would be super-cool to hear your perspective. Thank you for creating a tone that rocks: yesterday, today & tomorrow.

Regards,
John

Frank is and has always been my favorite guitar master. Growing up in Montreal's Italian community, I noticed we all had a special love for him. I saw him live at Jarry Park in 1987 backing up for Stevie Ray, and let me tell you, I'm sure Stevie Ray felt he had a lot of tread to make up. They were both awesome acts, but I have to say Frank and Mahogany gave me a better rush. Love you Frank. Hope your DVD sales fair well so you can tour out here in Vancouver.

Frank is my guitar hero. I am also a guitar player with Frank being one of my main influences. Been a fan since the first time I saw him on the televised California Jam II. Bought the live album the next day. Love all the cuts from this release. Also have "Tales of the Unexpected". Frank's version of "All Along the Watchtower" is one of my most played songs on my music catalog. I also enjoy old video clips on You Tube of some of his past performances. I hope to have the opportunity some day to catch him live.

Frank,
I've been playing guitar since 1972. I bought Strange Universe in the late seventies, after seeing you on Don Kirchner's Rock Concert. You are one of a handful of guitarists who have powerfully influenced my style. When I first heard Land of 1000 Nights, it sent chills up my spine! That entire album is still my favorite. Such great story tunes like: Once Again, Tryin' Anyway, King Who Stole the Universe, Spanish Warrior, Strange Universe, etc.!
I just bought and viewed the Agora DVD. Frank, you are an eternal beast! Like Jeff Beck, and a few elite others, you are among the few guitarists who always push themselves to constantly evolve and get better. You've NEVER rested on your laurels and that's what sets you at the top of the list of rock's great axe men!
Your new DVD is the the most impressively organic live DVD concert I've ever seen. Your band is super tight and interactive. They allow you to soar. The sound quality is SUPERB. I can't even imagine what efforts, patience and time you must've put in to resurrect the sound defects in the drum track recording. 1.5 MILLION edits!! WOW! That most definitely was a labor of love! Your drummer is a BEAST. He reminds me of the fusion greats like Tony Williams. I'm sure he must thank you daily for saving and preserving his performance!
It was all worth it. Six solid hours of powerful tunes and jamming. Your guitar playing shines from start to finish. Great clear tone! But the highlight (for me) is your voice. You sound SO much more relaxed and naturally powerful than anything I've heard previously. "Buddy" made me cry, totally because of the expressiveness of your vocal. I also love this version of "Go Strange" over the original studio one. The opening riff is SO much clearer and just grabs you by the throat! Too many other highlights to list.
Anyone who hasn't gotten the DVD yet,...you should RUN (not walk) and pick up a copy. It's worth EVERY cent!

I became an instant fan as a teenager in the 70s after seeing the band on Don Kirschner's Rock Concert. Bought Strange Universe right away. I thought Frank was one of the best guitarists out there and was a huge fan of Jimmy Ayoub's drumming. I found that no one else knew them and set about educating as many of my friends as possible. I hugely enjoyed when rock would shift to jazz and back to rock.

When the opportunity came to see them backing up Ted Nugent, a big group of us went. The concert was in Bismarck ND. My friends saw that I was way more excited to see Frank and the band. They came out on stage and played in front of a curtain that was in front of all of Ted's stuff. Frank and company blew the place up and my friends finally got what I had been preaching. Those that had come to see Ted were blown away by the raw energy and talent displayed by Frank and the rest of the band which was the highlight of my evening.

I purchased this album years ago from a thrift shop. I had 2500 vinyl records at one point but this was one of my go to albums. Thanks Frank for your talent and inspiration.

I first had the pleasure to come upon your great music as a 14 year old watching the Bromont, Quebec concert recorded in 1979. I was immediately a fan! Some of my favourite’s over the years were the guitar solo in Electric Reflections of war, Poppy, Dragonfly, All Along The Watch Tower, Norwegian Wood, Strange Dreams, the list goes on... hell I loved all your albums! Still a fan and listen to your music almost everyday. Thank you for the great music which has been apart of my life now for 40 years! All the best!

Fan for Life!
