The only album I've heard of yours was the Live one and was so impressed I FINALLY looked around for your website. Looks like I've got some catching up to do, starting with Strange Universe! I love your sound and am glad to hear you survived the '60's, I'm suprised I'm still alive too, after all the "things" I did back then. Hope to see you on tour again soon-come back to Seattle-you've got quite a fan base here! Would like to see some DVD's from your concerts someday! ROCK ON!!!

I discovered Frank Marino's music back in 1978 when I was in High School. Dragonfly remains the best song I have ever heard from a true guitarist. Keep rockin' Frank. Please come back to Dallas

Dear Frank,

during my high school days just before college I was very much into spirituality experimenting with drugs and music and of course Hendrix, the Beatles, you know the usual suspects. Anyway It was Halloween night I had auditioned and became a jock at my college radio station. So this is my premier night and I decide that I am going to let the listeners of this station know that there is a new kid in town bringing something that the other young conservative knuckleheads don't know about. For whatever reason doing some mushrooms I believe seemed kewl at the time. my best friend was with me as th eguy I was replacing were trading places moving bags of albums around, I was really nervous, the song on -air was fading and your album was cued up sort of as the needle kept bouncing, Gawd stop bouncing...anyway some sort of miracle happened and it did...I said something feeble that became incredibly majestic when the first beats of Land of a Thousand nights began...It was a defining moment for me...I have never forgotten you or your music. I am African American, law enforcement investigator, adjunct professor at a small college and Ph.D. candidate...only in America how's that for diversity and influence Frank?
Keep handlin dawg wink

Frank Marino (& Mahogany Rush). In the hardrock-scene the best there was !!! Unfortunelately there are no official video's or DVD's from Frank. I got a bootleg video from a live-performance in Montreal 1978 (once broadcasted on a tv-station. Despite the bad quality of it, it's clear that this is the best you can get ever !!! So why not bring that concert out on DVD/Video ??? I also got something from Don Kirsehner Rockconcert 1975 ! But also not official ! I do really wonder !!! but also mourn, that there isn't any video/dvd from Frank. I know for sure (absolutely !!!) that much more people want to have that ! So (when i'm allowed to say this... ?) wére are you waiting for Frank to bring that, or something else from you out on DVD/Video ???? What's the risk for you ??? considering the absolute fact that in this world... there isn't anything better to get !!!

Hi Frank
A little story: I was seventeen working at a printers with an Irish guy who liked loads of different types of music. He played a track on our player one day which I really liked. He said he didn't know who the track was by. I asked around and even played it to the proprietor of "Rock Box" (my usual record shop). He didn't really know who the track was by; regardless I thought it was one of the finest guitar pieces I'd ever heard. The mystery remained unsolved until today.
Through the wonders of the Internet and Google I have found out that the track is "Stories of a hero". I played it again tonight on this website and I remembered every note and word as if I was still seventeen. I'll look out for you if you ever play in the UK.
Thank You for your inspiration.

IT'S 1975 AND I'M 15 YEARS OLD. I HAD ASKED MY MOM FOR $6.00 SO I COULD GO TO MY LOCAL RECORD SHOP TO BUY AN ALBUM. I WASN'T LOOKING FOR ANYTHING IN PARTICULAR THAT DAY,AND I FIGURED I'D JUST RUMMAGE THROUGH THE RECORD BINS TO SEE WHAT I COULD FIND.FOR SOME REASON I WENT RIGHT TO THE BIN MARKED M AND STARTED FLIPPING THROUGH THE RECORDS AND CAME UPON THIS RECORD THAT HAD THE MOST COOLEST COVER I HAD EVER SEEN.HMMMM, I SAID TO MYSELF. MAHOGANY RUSH. COOL NAME . HMMM, I SAID TO MYSELF. STRANGE UNIVERSE. COOL TITLE TOO. THE COVER REALLY REFLECTED THE TITLE. I TURN THE ALBUM OVER, AND THERE IS THIS PICTURE OF A GUY WITH VERY LONG HAIR AND THE COOLEST CLOTHES PLAYING AN SG. I SAID TO MYSELF THIS BAND HAS GOT TO BE GOOD. I BOUGHT THE RECORD EVEN THOUGH I HAD NEVER HEARD OF THESE GUYS BEFORE. I PUT THE RECORD ON THE TURNTABLE AND THAT WAS IT FOR ME. FRANK MARINO BECAME MY GUITAR GOD ON THAT DAY. I WISH I COULD REMEMBER THE EXACT DAY I BOUGHT THAT ALBUM. I WOULD CELEBRATE THAT DAY LIKE A BIRTHDAY!
THANK YOU FRANK FOR YEARS OF GREAT MUSIC.
