I think I have the right favorite album, it was the "Black" album,
anyway it was my first "rock concert" and I was a young guitar player who only knew country western songs and had only been playing since 1973.
A friend invited me to the Music Hall in Houston to see some guy named Frank Marino?
I still remember standing in the front right of stage 10 rows back as the opening synthesizer chord sounded and the announcer's voice stated "Ladies and gentlemen Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush"
Frank Marino came on stage in a silk looking long sleeved loose fitting shirt with that wine red SG playing a sound and style that I had never been exposed to and I was forever changed as a guitar player.
I would not be affected that way again until the first time I heard Eddie Van Halen play Eruption.
I'm turning 50 this year and sometimes still wonder what could have happened if I had stuck with that dream that was started by Frank that night.

I was 13 and went to see you headline a General Admission concert in '78. I was getting squished because I was small. A security guard grabbed me and pulled me into the building and I was the second person through the door. This is the only time I have ever been front row for a real concert. The Godz, Judas Preist and Frank Marino; fantastic concert. After the show we started searching the hotels to try and find you. We went into the game room of the holiday inn and Frank Marino was playing "Gun-Fight" with Glenn Tipton. After the game Glenn left hurriedly but my freind asked Frank if he would like to play a game of 8-ball. Frank surprised us by saying "yes." Frank stated that he always looses on scratching on the 8. Frank ran the table but phophetically did in fact scratch on the eight. That was a great memory that is lasting a lifetime. Thanks for being such a nice guy and great talent. Those qualities don't come in the same package often.

Frank, I just want to say thank you! Your music has inspired me since I saw you and Ronnie Montrose together at some forgotten theatre in Chicago many years ago. I learned guitar because of that, and MOST LIKELY guitar kept me out of trouble back in the 80's. I never miss ya' when you come to town. Thanks and Always Rock like you do! Randy Norris

Hi Frank,
I have been a long time admirer of your music since the late seventies when I first heard "Tales of the Unexpected" on the Friday night Rock show with Tommy Vance on the BBC. I never got to see you live, even though I found out that you played in Portland, Oregon in the summer of 1986 and I was up the road in Beaverton , oblivious to the fact. You signed a copy of "From the Hip" dedicated to me, for my brother, in the early nineties in San Francisco, and that is one of the treasured CD's in my collection.

Thanks for the great music and enjoyment you have given me over the years and keep doing what you do best.

rgds,Tom

Saw Frank in Shreveport, La a couple of times in the 70's. My initial reaction was Hendrix, but better!
Just started getting into the music again, after a long hiatus.
Rock on!
