A long time ago I was really into hardrock and in that time I heard Frank for the first time. I was deeply impressed in his way of playing his guitar.

During the years I still kept interest in music, especially guitar oriented music. But I was almost forgotten this great guitar player. Today, after app. 15 years, my memory said to look for his music again and after this time I'am still impressed of the level of Frank.

When he comes to Europe.....I will sure visit him.

Hi Frank;

I just looked over Your Site and had fond memories of Your music when I was a kid in the 70's. Guys like You made me go from Classical Harp to Electric Guitar. So I guess this is Eternal Gratitude I have for You and Your Works, Frank.

I finally got to see You in Dallas in 1992 at a Club there. Awesome!

Like You, Frank, I use a Signiture Axe, but mine is an Abstract 3DV, and You can even see it online at Ed Roman Guitars on the Abstract page abou the 3DV Axe. And I use a custom Emery Amp from Emery Sound in the Bay Area.

A Lesson in Life I learned from You, Frank, is that we were put upon this Earth to be Innovators and NOT Imitators. So I can say honestly that like You, I did my own thing and did not copy licks from Axe players way back then. I figured that every one of them busted ass to get his or her Sound, and like You, it was better to bust ass and get my own Sound.

When I saw You in 1992, I was and still am one of the few real Axe players who work in Electronica, and sometimes, Goth and Industrial. I've been a VJ and Producer in the Underground a lotta' years.

I had the first three albums of yours when I was a kid, Frank, and they inspired me a lot. I always loved some guitarists who were not mainstream like You.

These days, I run my own Axe into things like the Roger Linn "AdrenaLinn II" unit, and I own the world's smallest full tube Metal Amp by Curt Emery of Emery Sound. So I lay down loops and beatz and keys these days, besides the Axe.

I'd listen to Your work those years past, and it reminded me a lot of Saint-Saens, the great Composer. For some weird reason, I listen to Saint-Saens' Opus 154 for Harp and Orchestra and it reminds me of You and Your Great Music. Weird, I suppose.

Thank You for Inspiration, Frank. May the Creators Bless You and Keep You. You know Frank, if You ever wondered what the Holy Grail, was... look in the Mirror. Because what You have given to Humanity IS a Sacred Treasure.

Peace, Frank;

Ricky Ray

Dear Frank,

I've been such a longtime fan of yours, I just wanted to drop a line and tell you so. I'm a bass player mostly, but I can sling a few blues licks, but NOT LIKE YOU! You've always had something very special to your style. Your jazz infuzed passages and your speed!! Oh my god the speed! My guitar buddies used to listen to you back in Junior High, and I'm still amazed today. Guys like you deserve SO MUCH MORE attention than the mainstream has given. Another cat, Chris Duarte is another one that I think deserves more attention. But, I'm here to sing YOUR praises right now! Frank, God Bless You Man!! I'm at work spinning your music as we speak, and I have not, nor will I ever get tired of it! From 1978 till 2007, Frank Marino has always been at the top of my list of favorite guitarists. I hope this reaches you, and finds you well my brother. Please don't ever quit kicking out the nasty licks!! You music really moves me. Thank you for doing what you do.

Sincerely,
Andrew Wilkinson

I first saw Frank and Mahogany Rush in '78 or '79 at the Pocono Raceway in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. It was a great show and I had already owned the first live album on cassette tape.
Then I saw Frank in August or September of 1993 in Orange County (I forget the exact town), California. I was sitting to the right of the stage facing it on Frank's left side so I had a great view of Frank's hands and the fretboard. This again was a great show, but I was totally awe-struck when the "King Bee" played "I'm a King Bee". I had already seen Stevie Ray and many other greats over the years, but that night's version of "I'm a King Bee" was the most moving guitar playing I have ever witnessed.
I'm really sorry that I didn't get to see any of the shows on the 2006 tour. Every time they were coming into a town, I was leaving the town. I hope they will do another tour fairly soon.
God Bless Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush!

I found MR in the late 70's and was highly impressed with the intricately accentuated guitar work. I've been a MR fan ever since. Keep up the great work!

I saw you open for either Ted Nugent or Aerosmith...I think...around 1978. It was quite a show. Very impressive. The whole using a tie to play the guitar. I tell people about it often when the subject comes up. Glad you are still around.

laughlaugh Just to encourage my son on not giving up the idea of his campaign to show Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush that he and many others love his music. I'm not a rock lover myself, although I consider some rock ballads to be really beautiful (Love of My Life/Queen, All My Love/Led Zeppelin, Us & Them/Pink Floyd and, most recently, Stories Of A Hero/FM&MR). Frank, I loved the song dedicated to your girls love. All rockers should follow your example. Merry X'mas to you all. laugh
