Frank,

As a young guitar player enthralled with and moved by the sonic colors, textures and expression that we call the blues, I am very pleased to have discovered you. I have been captivated by the raw emotion coming from players ranging from robert johnson to jimi to stevie and beyond, but I was not aware of you until a talented local bluesman, mentor, and close friend turned me on. The story behind your entry into the world of music is something I can relate to very well. Your playing echos many of those who have passed, yet you manage to always make it you - the stories told by your sounds are you- and I certainly find inspiration in your expression, tone, composition and of course, and least importantly, your badass nasty chops. Thanks for the music and the inspiration. Peace.

Just an old friend from Montreal. I wonder if Frank still has that Ovation nylon stringed acoustic/electric I sold him at one of my gigs in old Montreal in 1976? Frank, Jacque Blais and myself jammed a little that night. we had fun. I have'nt seen him since the Kansas concert in Boston in 1978/1979. I hope lifes treating him well. I sent him an email and hope he responds. It would be nice to hear from him.

Peace,

Jesse Otten

smile ok, Grettings from Guatemala, maybe it sounds rare to you, but in my country we love Mahogany Rush´s Music, and the most important of all is that we still listen the old lp´s and the new cd´s of course, so right now knowing that you are still playing is a big surprise and it is a great new that Frank Marino is still alive, and by the way I like the whole discography of Frank and Mahogany Rush, all of them are great for me, congratulations for this nice web page.

We´ll be in touch

Mahogany Rush, Frank Marino &Mahogany Rush, and Frank Marinoare longtime favorite music ofmine. I rarely see them on internetradio stations' playlists, and neverseen a music video by them. Whatall such stations do have you knowof, and if Frank doesn't want tomake typically elaborate storytellacting music videos, how about juststraight on-stage live performancesongs for music tv channels to airheighten promote them?

Frank,
Not only have I always love your band and music, I saw you in the Grenada Theatre in Sherbooke in 1978 I think. We were so enthusiastic, you started out slow and built up momentum until we were all screaming for more and more encores that I'm sure we wore you out. I've been to Woodstock, seen Zappa, Led Zeppelin, and others back then, but your concert was at the top. What fun it was! I saw the Allman Brothers in 1970 just before Duane was killed (outside in Montreal), even snuck a tape recorder in and got lots of the concert. Any chance someone has a recording of the Grenada one?

It was a time period, eh?

All the best,
Bruce Herring

Hey Frank! What's happening. I'm just sittin' in school. I finally got to listen to World Anthem. I love it. Especially "Requiem for a Sinner". My dad has almost all your albums and he gave me "Strange Universe", and "World Anthem". On Strange universe, I like, king who stole the universe, and my favorite Land of 1000 nights. I missed your concert on Oct.10 in Cleveland. The tickets were too expensive. Maybe next time around I'll to see you. Keep Rockin'

I first saw Frank & the band back in 1977 I think at a cheap rock show that included bands I never heard of including Mahogany Rush In Rochester NY. Frank came out and the first lick on his guitar had me hooked. I had never seen or heard such incredible intensity, power, mastery of the guitar and pure talent before. I was blown away.
The last time I saw Frank live was at some totally forgetable place here in Louisville called "Cliffhangers"about 6 or7 years ago What a total waste of talent. Frank played his guts out to less than 100 people for the better of three hours. As I sat and was once again bown away by his ablilities I couldn't help but think that it was such a shame so many people don't even know who Frank is.
Frank, don't bother coming here to Louisville any more. These country bumpkins don't know how to rock. Let me come to you. You are the greatest. I love your music, your songs , your style, your talent. Rock On!
P.S. I never went back to Cliffhangers. They closed not long after.

hello frank, sure glad you came back around, was loosing hope for exceptional guitarists in this day and age.no one plays lead guitar much anymore.anyway i've been a fan since about 1975-76 something like that.i too play guitar and jimi was my first inspiration...then i heard mahogany rush and knew thats what i want to play.there is very noticable frank marino influence in my playing.thank you frank for the inspiration then and now.....thought i was getting old....too old to gig again but seeing you in santa cruz revitalized my spark and desire to continue practicing and sharpening my skills.frank you are one of the most mezmerizing musians,so versitile, love the way you utilize every note,harmonic,hammer,slide,bend.....etc.awesome frank! we know your just like all of us but some how you seem to be up there ...on a pedistal..almost god like...lol.thanks again frank and keep rockin' and keep touring we'd come see you every time. gary f......a.k.a. I have always been amazed by the virtuosity of Frank's playing. Seeing him perform on this recent tour I heard a lot of new chops or at least some stuff that I haven't heard him perform before. It's really awesome to see a great musician get better and better over the years. So many of them seem to peak out or lose some of their luster later in their careers. Being a musician myself, seeing Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush again in concert after so many years, and perform on such an unprecedented level, is not only inspiring, but a validation of things that I have believed myself. That rock 'n roll doesn't have to change and great players like Marino carry the torch of this art form.
