Blown away by Frank's gig at Nuneaton last night - great set, superb musicianship from all the band. I cant begin to comprehend how they can play at that level for more than 3 hours none stop ....... awesome .

The last time I saw Frank was at Port Vale in 1981 .......
....exactly 24 years ago today -
Frank, you gotta get back here more regular...

Thanx for a truly memorable night.

The gig at the Mean Fiddler was just superb. If there's a better guitarist out there then I'd like to see him. Thanks Frank, that was one show I won't forget in a hurry, and the other fellas in the band were pretty good too. Please come back to the UK very soon.

"BLOWN AWAY"
Has Holmfirth ever been rocked like it was last night ?
Frank and the boys played 3 and 1/4 hours of solid quality rock and roll.
How the hell did the drummer keep up that pace for the entire set.
Dont leave it another 24 years for an encore!

I remember the first time hearing Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush I was floored. I had to get my hands on some albums. I walked into this place n N.J. while I was visiting, and damn... I picked up Strange Universe, World Anthem, Mahogany Rush IV, Whats Next and The Power of Rock n Roll. I had Juggernaut on tape. This changed my life... super huge influence on my playing. Thank you Frank and Mahogany Rush. Sister Strange baby, I really don't have a favorite, I'm always playing them all, vinyl still in excellent condition. Really hope to see em live someday, anyway much respect.

I saw frank for the first time at the Mean Fiddler. I watched everything real close and loved it. The great majority love Franks output, and it seems to me he does more than most to stay in contact with his fans. None of the big 'I Am'.

Hey Frank,

Been a fan since I saw you in 1977. You are without a doubt the finest guitarist I have seen or heard. RealLive! is fantastic, can't stop playing it. My daughter is a huge fan as well and her friends can't understand why you are not as widely known as you should be. Well screw the mainstream. Keep on playin Frank! And get back to Toronto yeah?

I saw Frank last night at " The Mean Fiddler" in London on his Real Live UK tour, What a show, 2hours 50 minutes of non stop & totally mind blowing pleasure. The man is a pure genius. poppy lasted 30 minutes & strange universe 28 minutes, absolutely awsome. also see him in 2002 on the UK legends of rock tour & before that in 1982 on the UK Juggernaught tour. Every time has been excellent & he is getting better with age, A Complete Legend. COME BACK SOON FRANK, PLEASE !

Hey Guys and gals!
firstly - great work on the site.
Frank in particular has had such an influence on my style today (not that i'm particually good).
i started out in much the same way: i had a very bad experience with a (what i thought was a minor) Drug, which made me have panic attacks, trips ect... only about 4years ago now
i started playing Blues stuff to keep my mind busy (my experience prob wasnt as bad as Franks but still enough to make me Take up guitar properly) and started listening to some of his earlier stuff (Maxoom is just so awesome!) as well as other guitarists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Hendrix..
but Frank stands out above them all (yes! even Hendrix - to me)
I'm only 18 at the moment, and still have a long way to go.. but i feel that i share the passion with Frank Closley as i have been in similar shoes (almost anyway) and look up to him in everyway.
he is an inspiration to us all. and i owe him greatly for the music that keeps me ticking.
there is nothing i love more than getting home from college, sticking on Maxoom and Trying to jam along to a few of the tracks.
thanks frank! You're a top-notch guy and guitarist! keep it up! hopefully i'l be there someday! keep going until then so that i can Jam with you!
cheers!

I am a long time fan, first being exposed to the California Jam II show on TV in the 70's . I then purchased the Cal Jam II album which despite the big names, Frank Marino is the highlight of the set. I then rapidly purchased Live and Tales on vinyl. In the late 90's I was able to purchase Live and Tales on CD. Recently an old friend from grade school all the way up to high school returned to town. I had not seen him since 1982, and now we are 42 year old men. I was surprised when he mentioned to me that one of the best memories of me from then was introducing him to Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush. This caused me to pull the CD's back out, which I have been listening to in the car in the weeks since. I decided today to check out the internet for any info and was very impressed with the website and the interaction of Frank with the fans. I just ordered a copy of the new album, and cannot wait for my copy to come! Please come to the Midwest!!

Hi Frank, the Band, Wild Willy & all you Franksters,

Anyone going to "The Mean Fiddler" gig in the U.K.

Some of us Franksters are meeting in "The Intrepid Fox" Wardour Street, just around the corner from the Mean Fiddler, I am told.

I was also told that it was a rock pub with long-haired staff, recently a fellow Frankster called juggernaut1, told me he has been there a couple of times and it was more like "make up on guys".

It's a little late to change the location, so I will be there if there is time, as I have to see Frank first.

Look out for the white "FANE towards perfection" T-shirt or the Black "LADSTOCK II, LADOCK CORNWALL" T-shirt, if you see me or the wife say Hi.

See you at The Mean Fiddler, London, or, The Brook, Southampton.

The e-mail address is to try and keep U.K. fans informed of events as often as possible, basic contact & my bit to try & help Willy, all this can be done here when visiting this website!

I just thought it would be nice to have a U.K. circle.

Frank, may your God come with you on your journey here, and keep you and the others safe, I will see you as arranged,

Steve.

Great site, I'll be seeing Frank live for the first time in Huddersfield next Saturday. I haven't heard much of his music, but my favourite Mahogany Rush song is 'Strange Universe'.
