One of my favorite guitarists of all time. I just signed up for a music service called Rhapsody and stumbled across the Live album. Used to have it on 8 track (hahaha). But I played the HELL out of it! Finally got it on CD years later but listened to it again today. One of my favorite albums of all time. Never had the pleasure of seeing Frank live though.

Frank - Thank you for inspiring generations of musicians. You truly define rock guitar; pure and unadulterated, straight from the soul.

I saw you in the late 70's in Atlanta, GA and listened to you throughout High School. I had the live album in the 70's but I have no idea what happen to it. I pulled you up on the internet and I can't stop playing your music.

Haven't been able to get a copy of this album in years(Stange Universe) or Juggernaut, for that matter, either, as it is my second favorite. Many years ago I remember a friend had a copy of Strange Universe on cassette, complete w/ the cardboard liner w/ original cover picture, but now can't even find either anywhere to order them(on CD).

Wow Frank, I just read the April 2005 Guitar World and I can't express how excited I am to see your easy eyes looking back at me in it . Even more suprising was to find out you are managing a video, audio and computer networking company . But I wasn't suprised to find out Zakk Wylde mentioning you as a favorite guitar virtuoso. Guitar World has mentioned this for probably 15 years. Frank , back in 1981 I made a poster out of my power of rock 'n' roll sleve and an american flag, your les paul and black jacketed sleve was placed in the star field and then with some jonboat lettering I spelled out mahoany rush #1, All my friends thought it was the coolest. You are the coolest mode oriented rock/blues virtuoso and real live, eye of the storm , from the hip doesn't convince me you've mellowed. You are a constantly improving player and I will always admire you . Sincerely Diminished7th

I've loved Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush since circa 1982 when I was just a teenager. My older brothers had been fans for a few years already and when I listened to Juggernaut I was hooked! Afterward I bought or taped any Frank Marino album I could get my hands on!
I've only had the pleasure of getting to see the band once, in San Antonio, TX, summer of 1986....it was unforgettable in many ways! I met a couple of the band members before the show (but not Frank) so that was pretty cool, plus I was right in the front row, just a few of feet from one of the all time great masters of the guitar. I was simply blown away!
Of course, now I am grown, married and a mom to 3 kids. My oldest is 15 and well on his way to becoming a guitar virtuoso. He has grown up listening to your music Frank and has a deep appreciation for your
amazing talent and imagination. I hope that you come to Texas one of these days so that he can experience your music in person and be touched by it as I know anyone who has seen Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush live has.
Be Well and God Bless!

Frank, the first song I ever heard of yours was "Land of a Thousand Nights," and the first time I saw you live was at Winterland, San Francisco, 1974. Both were life-changing events. To say that I'm a fan is an understatement at best; my friends and I literally wore out the grooves of our Mahogany Rush vinyls! I'm surprised I have any hearing at all considering how loud we cranked up your tunes!

Much thanks to Willy for bringing up this Web site for us, the fans. And Guitar World Magazine for mentioning the site and your music.

It's so great to hear that you are back in action in a big way. Best of it all to you and hope to see you live again. Rock on brother!

I've been a fan since that album. But my favourite story is about my idiot ex-husband. In 1983, on the way home from a Rush concert with my then-husband, I asked him if he enjoyed the music. He turns to me and says, "It was O.K., but I liked the band better when they were called Mahagony Rush." I was struck dumb by that comment! Needless to say, it was impossible to stay married to an idiot who can't tell the difference between the two bands!!! There are limits to the amount of compromise one should make in any relationship, and that maxed-out my limit. Now, I have a husband who, not only can tell the two bands apart, is also a big fan of both! Keep on playing and try to get to London, Ontario for a concert real soon!

At some of the most lowest points of my life sad I know that I have always been able to rely upon the music of Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush to lift me from the depths of my despair. It is this ability that sets Frank & the band apart. It is a rare combination to find artists that display such fine musical excellence whilst remaining true to their principles. Frank and the band have been resolute in not allowing themselves or their fans to be manipulated by megabuck record companies. Such fine attributes are a rare commodity these days especially in the field of entertainment. Too many so called celebs wishing they had a tenth of the talent of Frank & the band would be content to rest on their laurels if they had achieved anything close to such excellence. My musical Gods include all the usual suspects, Page, Clapton, Jimi, Blackmore, Rory Gallagher, Lifeson, Kossof, Peter Green and the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan. But head and shoulders above this exalted company stands Frank Marino. His music is fuelled with both passion & fury. A spine tingling combination that sets chills running through me. As I grow older and become more and more dissallusioned with the modern world, I find myself reaching further and further back in time to plunder the memories of my youth. Frank and the boys have been with me for over twenty years now and I will take those memories and music to my grave. My eyesight might fade and the sounds I hear may grow faint but deep within my mind I will always be able to hear Franks guitar wailing like a lone voice of reason. I pity those who have not heard Franks work and in turn I try to pass the message on. Maybe someone will hear? These days people are too busy thinking about themselves to worry about what anyone else has to say. In a world that is increasingly obsessed with mediocre talents I am at times glad that some people are not aware of this music. For in truth they are not worthy. They would not recognise the beauty and truth within. This is my story. Its the Story of a Hero. Thanks.smile
