I met Frank Marino in 1975 will roofing the hotel he was staying at in Austin, TX. He was to play that night at "The Armadillo World Headquarters" The bass player, my sound man and myself happen to see Frank and Co relaxing by the pool, so my bass player suggested we go meet him and the band. We came down off the roof and introduced ourselves. He told us to sit down and get something to drink. We were astounded at how easy going, pleasant and informative he was. He gave us tickets to come see him that night, but we were unble to attend. To this day I still cannot think of one guitar player, save Eric Johnson, that has influenced my playing, as Frank Marino has over the years. The Man, The Myth, The Legend. God Bless you and keep you playing till the "Tales of the Unexpected" brings us all home!

i am an assistant of James Carrier who is a well known Engineer on PEI. he worked as an assistant on 2 of Franks Albums ,, and has contiuned a working relationship thoughout the years, I know because of his experiences with frank it has made him into the engineer ,, and ultimately the man he is today.
I'm learning my skills from James, and he learned from Frank,
So in the Audio world, I guess that would make Frank my Grandfather.
Glad to be apart of the family Grampssmile

Ciao Frank..
I have been one of you long time Fan..It goes back 1973 the first time I heard your music that inspired my interested to be a guitar player. "As matter of fact my first Guitar that I bought its a 1964 SG with a melody make neck with tremolo" I had just moved from Italy the year b4 and ever since you have been my Hero.
"In 1979 I met another (paisano) from Montreal, told me of the time that you play at his High school and what a great experience that it was".
I have being to most of your California appearances with the exception of the 1974 California Jam. "I had no way to get to there"
I have all your Records plus I have purchased all your CD's. I am now waiting for your DVD so I can added to my music collection. Occasionally my brother and I and few other friend we get together and jam. We love to do= I' am a King Bee,The Power of R&Roll, Aint' Dead Yet, Strange Dreams, Poppy, Roadhouse Blues. Purple Haze and we close with Midnight Highway. "Normally we average
about 5-8 hours Jam"..That's what we like. Your latest CD, "Real Live" CD's shows what I am talking about. I would like to congratulate you on "RealLive" excellent JOB... PLEASE let us know when the DVD will be available. Also, will you be touring California in the near future?

Best Regards and a Prosper 2005.

I first heard Frank Marino as a 9th grade teenager. I had gotten a album called California Jam or something Jam. I think it had two or three of his songs on it (King Bee, Johnny B. Goode, Etc.). Anyway, I was completely overwhelmed by his playing style and emotion. I had just started playing guitar myself and my favorites were Hendrix and the other standout players. Over the years that pasted I was in a number of bands, then got married, had children, and now run my own small company. With the limited free time I now have, strong guitar music is all I listen to (alot of Joe Satriani). To bring you current, I'm 41, and I just got satellite radio. I heard King Bee on a Blues channel, ran to see who it was, and it was Frank Marino. My youth came "rushing" back and I just ordered that '78 live recording on-line. I can't wait till it arrives in a few days. Thank you so much for the memories.

Dear Frank and Family,
I would like to take this moment to wish you and your family a Happy New Year and all the best for 2005.(Health and Happiness)
Your Real Live CD just kicks BUTT! I think as many fans have here in this forum that you are indeed very under rated amongst the top Guitarist today.
My personal opinion is that you are number 1.(Very sincere about this)
I will wait impatiently for your All Blues Album you are planning and also the much awaited DVD would be a real «Bonus«.
Just keep doing things your way and I am sure with Gods help that all will come to place eventually.
It is really not all that important that we get rated or recognized as the best but what is important that your TRUE FANS have never forgotten you and I am sure many NEW FANS will turn up as time goes on.
Your Fan 4Ever!!
Mario.

I discovered Frank in the spring of 1978 right about the time the Cal Jam 2 was happeneing. Frank's music was a great discovery in my musical maturation. Frank's musical style and play even helped to influence me to becoming a guitarist and musician. I truly appreciate his style and tremendous live performances. The only thing is I miss seeing him terribly. It's been many years since I saw him perform at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano. I only wish he would come back. If you do come back Frank, please stop in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have moved since those days. God bless you old friend. I'll never forget seeing you all those times.

Sincerely,

Tracy Mabe
