ITS a shame that Franks music doesnt get much air-play. I find Franks music to be inspirational and moving. Ive only had the honor of seeing Frank Live once. At Pennsylvania jam n the late 70's.I hope that when Frank tours that he plays a few dates in Central New York State.Dragonfly makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. Frank I love ya!! CHUCK If you ever decide to tour in my area Id really like to know.Seeing as how the air-play thing is moot.

Glad to see this Frank Marino Page. I am always looking for news about Frank and it is hard to come by. I have seen Frank once on the Juggernaut Tour and it was everything I had hoped for and more. I agree with you that Frank is totally under-rated. Frank has some of the most original music created and was black-balled by the industry for not conforming to their demands. Anyone who is a Frank fan can e-mail me at speedkng99@aol.com I have most of his collection on either vinyl or CD and am always trying to upgrade it. Rock on.

Hello. It was an unexpected pleasure to discover Willie's site. Frank's music has been a companion since 1978. I have always been most impressed with the "massive" tone, clean yet muscular compared to the other guitarists of the 70's to present. I would like to thank Frank for many years of inspiration (with my own playing as well)

I think Franks music stands the test of time, even his old recordings sound fresh. Frank is by far under-rated, I always felt Frank got the shaft, as far as air play, on Cleveland radio, these program directors have no taste in music, and play mostly crap. Frank, do you remember me, I interviewed you in Cleveland, some years back for my tv show. Hey how about an up-date on the site, are you ever coming to Cleveland again soon, I hope? Drop me a line. I'm thinking back, I'm just 16 years old just getting into music...Alice Cooper, Uriah Heep, Led Zeppelin and my brother buys this new unheard of album because of the cool cover. It's Child of the Novelty and all the neighborhood friends are down in our basement. We play it over and over again and it's going back and forth, left and right on the speakers. We have struck the ultimate music gold. I waited and bought Strange Universe the day it hit the shelf. I said to myself this is the best of the best. I was sure MR was going to be the biggest, but you all know the rest with the critics and the music industry holding Frank back. Anyway we now have the Internet and Willy, and I am truly thankful that finally Frank @ Mahogany Rush can get the credit that they deserve from all the people that really count. You guys.

I purchased the Child of the Novelty album in 1974 and was so blown away with the music. Frank was the same age as me when it was released . One day recently I was working and a few of the tunes came to mind which ultimately lead me to my albulm collection and in turn the album itself. Still there after 25 years.I can't believe I found this website. Right on Frank!

I've been a Frank Marino& Mahogany Rush fan since 1974.My first concert was day on the green in the Oakland Coliseum I was hooked.Since I'm a Hendrix Freak it only makes sense for me to be drawn into Frank Marino's music.I'm new to the internet so I looked up Frank Marino& Mahogany Rush, and here I am.This site is now in my favorites with Jimi Hendrix.Just being here brings back alot of high school music memories. In my room with some friends, and a black lite, and a lite organ listening to Mahogany Rush on head phones what a ride.My favorite song is Land of 1000 Nights, but the whole Strange Universe Album is for me,your best work.Hope to see you live again, maybe in Canada or in Calif.I'm glad that your still out there playing that red Gibson SG.P.S I've been sober 12 years by the grace of God.

I got my first Frank Marino record when I was 10 years old (I am 25 years old), and have played it as often as possible. The record was "Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush Live". My father gave it to me (he have raised me well!). I have played the guitar myself in 10 years, and Frank has and will always be my big inspiration to me. This evening I have played a couple of Frank's records for a friend of mine, and boy, did he enjoyed it!!! He'll go out and buy some for sure. You have to understand that I have always been the one and only among my friends who knew about Frank Marino's music. Therefore I'm really happy to have found this page. I would like to thank Frank for making music that have and always will mean a lot to me!

When I first heard his music back when I was in the 8th grade, he has been the best guitarist and is the best guitarist for me to this day. His music relates to alot of what I have and do stand for. Fantastic!

It seems there's a common-thread here. I too was curious once about the good old days of rock and roll and decided to do a search on Mahogany Rush (never thought of myself as a computer geek but it's a skill I'm glad I picked-up). I was pleasantly surprised in what I've found at this website. I've even had an on-line chat with the man himself. I've never chatted before, and haven't since. I'm about 3 days away from my 40th birthday, and judging by some of the comments here, a lot of you people clearly remember some of the great "once in a life-time" Mahogany Rush main events that I remember. (I guess you wouldn't be here if that weren't true). It's good to know that there are fans out there that haven't forgotten the contribution of pure heart and soul offered up by Franks Marino and Mahogany Rush. I totally agree with what was previously said about the mid-70's, they were a bit of a bummer at times. But thanks to Frank Marino and people like him, who have remained true to their own, we were able to over-shadow the musical drought of that time, with some refreshing New Rock and Roll. Thank you Frank...and a special thanks to you Willy, for this great website. Oh yeah, and thank you Stevie Ray, wherever you are.

I'm a guitar player. Back in the seventies Frank's music and playing ability were inspirations to me. Hundreds of other guitarists were "making music without soul" but Frank had a feel for the guitar that few people ever attain. The first Mahogany Rush album I bought was Child of the Novelty, then I backtracked to get Maxoom. IV was among the best, and of course, his live albums kick. I first saw the band open for Blue Oyster Cult in Omaha in the late seventies. Naturally my reason for going to the concert was to see Mahogany Rush. Critics may never have properly appreciated Frank and the band, but most critics aren't musicians. Nearly all my musician friends are fans of Frank -- he undoubtedly has a wider underground audience than he'll ever know -- and his guitar playing is widely respected by a "silent majority" among guitar players like myself.

Anyone I have ever taken to a Frank Marino concert was totally blown away! These two guys in front of us at the beginning of a concert didn't know who he was, but after the concert, they were already talking about getting tickets for his next concert in town. St.Louis has always supported Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush! You have many devoted Fans here Frank, don't forget us out here in the midwest. Peace.....

I've been listening to Frank Marino's music since Maxoom. I sure miss this guy. Since they don't tour (if they don't tour the US, they don't tour as far as I'm concerned) and the albums aren't available (record stores don't even know who Frank Marino is...!). I've kinda lost touch. Hard rock and Metal seem to be dead. But this 43 year old headbanger doesn't give up. Keep it up, Frank. And come back to Houston sometime, will ya?

Saw Frank and the boys in 1979 in Albuquerque. We were all sitting around getting high, when all of a sudden the lights went out, except for a single light beaming down on the stage. In the light stood Frank Marino, and he began jamming like we had never heard before. What an intro!. We were captivated from that moment on... It was a great show. Still to this day, it's my most memorable concert event. Thanks for the memory, Frank. Be cool and keep on rockin'! Sincerely, Ron Davidson RVAS1991@aol.com

Wow, what a time capsule this webpage is. I hadn't heard of Mahogany Rush since junior high. "Corporate Rock sucks", as the saying goes, I guess. Though it's been twenty-five years since I listened to the band on WROQ out of Charlotte, NC, I remember my musical impressions clearly. I had anachronistic tastes as a kid, preferring the immediately previous generation's music to the contemporary offerings of Kiss, Aerosmith, Kansas, & such. (Still do, actually--the mid-Seventies was a dog of a time to be a radio rock fan) The "Q" played Mahogany Rush's Hendrix covers, "Purple Haze" and "All Along the Watchtower". I was probably the only Hendrix fan my age in the Carolinas at that time, but my ears perked up at Marino's versions as well. His less trebly attack took quite a lot of the edge off, but those polished versions had truth of their own. It's good to see that his fans still remember and follow him, and that he is still active.
