I grew up in Montreal (Dorval, actually) and had the privilege of hearing and reading lots of and about Frank and his music. Those were heady days - we treated Frankie like the superstar he was (and is) - Montreal loves its superstars! First saw him live the summer of 1974 at Man and His World (former Expo 67 site) with Funkadelic opening up, what a night! Also saw him in Massey Hall opening for Rory Gallagher, summer 1975, opening for Nazareth in '76 and at the Chaud' (club which was to have been the scene for the Blues Brothers movie's live music 'til Parti Quebecois nixed that) with Bob Segarini opening I think. What a master of the Stratocaster. And wah wah? None better. Keep on rockin'!

i heard frank play over 20 yrs ago and for me its still the same. i get a tingle up my spine, i feel flush, and i am in awe. his music has been a lifelong friend to me,for some of us who refuse to allow the radio to force feed us crap we have searced music for people who are independant thinkers. people like frank.people who refuse to give in to corprate rock and play music only for money and not for the music's sake. sometimes the search is long, but when you find a diamond like frank,it feels special, and that diamond sparkles just a little more than anyone elses. you are proud to show off your mahogany rush tee shirt.(or whatever).i now have the chance to intoduce someone very special to franks music-my son,of 2 yrs. he will grow up listening to frank, among other stellar musicians.i hope frank will return to warm and sunny buffalo ny someday so i can take my little friend to his first fm concert. ps-frank,thanks for signing the back of my sg so many years ago. best wishes to vince.

Well, what can I say? Frank Marino is the greatest influence and inspiration source to me. Now and then I play in a band, and I think that a trained ear can hear Marino licks here and there when were playing. Great site by the way! I´m more than impressed. Tobbe, a true fan from the outback.

Hey Frank, Still can't wait for a new album. Just making a pit stop here before I go vote for you as the most under rated guitarist at vintage guitar mall. Can't believe Mark Farner is your closest competition on that poll. I mean hey, i like Grand Funk, but what the hell makes him any kind of extraordinary? Well, c-ya later. Here I go to vote.

Although "Juggernaut", as a whole, is my favorite album, it goes without saying that there are cuts off of every album that make me smile. A musician myself since age 12, (34 now), bands I've been associated with in the past (and present)have always featured a FM tune or two mixed-in with our original music. The song "Ditch Queen" readily comes to mind as one that usually brings the crowds to one simultaneuos, fist-pumping cheer. There are still a great many of your fans out there that recognize great music when they hear (or re-hear) it. For that, and for years of absolutely fantastic offerings, all that I can say is a very heart-felt "Thanks Frank". May your fingers never stiffen, your children grow to be strong and healthy, and your quest into the mind's musical imagination be forever long and prosperous. It was great to see my vote turn the number up to 930 for you and Franer down to 860 in the Vintage underrated contest/deal. Everyone here knows Frank that "you are truly the most underrated guitarist" and when your new album does comes out to surface, it will put the everything past and present in the 2nd lane...can't wait for that day to arrive! God Bless you always my friend***

I first heard Frank in 1976 in a dark smoke filled bedroom of a good friend who loved music. He is dead now but every time I play a record or CD of Frank's music I remember him. Driving home tonite I was listening to Stange Universe. This music is today as fresh and enjoyable as the first time I heard it. I have seen Frank at least 10 times over the years and had tickets to see him at the Bayou in Washington DC. For some reason the show was cancelled. Now I hear the Bayou is closing at the end of the year. I sure hope there is someplace left in this area for Frank to PLAY. Regards

Unfortunately, I never saw Frank live. He was touring just before the release of Full Circle in 1986 and he played a club in Phoenix. Unfortunately I was only 20 and couldn't get in! That was the last time (that I know of) that he's played Arizona. I would like to see CBS get off their duffs and release more of Frank's music on CD. My records and tapes have just about had it and replacements are hard to find. Cool site. I'll be checking it often!

I first saw Frank in Seattle in I think '79. I had never heard of him before. He opened for Aerosmith (of whom I was a big fan), but by the time Frank finished, my voice was gone and I didn't care about the other band (what were their names?) and had found my favorite guitarist! I was totally blown away. I have almost every LP (even Maxoom) and now have every CD I can get my hands on. Frank, if you're reading this, I am one of your biggest fans, and hope that, God willing, you can keep making music for a long time to come and I'll be here to listen to it. I also saw Frank twice in Dallas, TX around the '83-'87 time frame. The first was at the Bronco Bowl, the second was at Billy Bob's (can all you guys imagine Frank at Billy Bob's redneck emporium?). Of course, Frank was AWESOME! It amazed me that he could still do Electric Reflections of War at a volume level about 1/8 of what it was in Seattle (probably before ears were considered a valuable asset) and it still gave me goosebumps! I would like to thank Frank and the boys for keeping me happy all these years, and for being the only band I know who don't care about the money, just the music! Thank you.......Frank! .......sincerely, Steve Cowles
