OK......IT WAS SUMMER OF '73......I had a 67 442 and we were cruising around philadephia....this guy comes up to me at a red light and askes me if i want to buy this 8 track player for 10 bucks.....the guy said the tape thats in there has this guitar player that is really "BAD". Ain't nobody "Badder" that this guy. so i bought it........ The tape was "CHILD OF THE NOVELTY"!!!!!!! Do you guys have any idea what it was like hearing that back in '73 ? You talk about "BLOWN AWAY"!!!!!! I Saw him do Allentown Pa in '74. He opened up for Aerosmith He stole that show hands down... Next.....Hollow Moon Afternoon...12 noon to 12 midnite. Trenton NJ state fairgrounds....aug 1975...I ate the purple paper that day.I fought my way to the front. Nobody was in front of me. He came on second.he did all of Child of the Novelty and Strange Universe,Red house and Star Spangled Banner for an Encore. I still have my pictures. The rest is history.......... "THANK YOU FRANK"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JESSE PETAS

Well, it was hard to choose between "What's Next" and "IV". Even though I haven't been keeping up with his releases, I still listen to the stuff I have and I always tell people about him and his music. I've seen Frank 3 or 4 times here in S. D. and it was an awesome show each time, I hope he comes back to town soon!Being a drummer, I have the musicians appreciation for good music and Frank is just that. I like the guitar style, the groove and the overall sound of the music, he just kicks ass! I also listen to the music of Rush (my favorite), Pat travers, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Motley Crue, Tool, Rob Zombie and I even like some of that 80's big hair music. Whatever rocks with a solid groove, upbeat, fast progressive, you know, ass-kickin' ! I also like to listen to Fusion-Jazz and Big Band music.

Frank's music has inspired me to learn how to play guitar. He has also motivated me to express myself with my instrument. At the times I felt alone just hearing his music would get me through. I have been a fan now for 20+ years. I have been playing the guitar now for 22 years. I hope to hear some new music and hope to find some of the titles I don't have.

FRANK MARINO'S MUSIC IS UNCOMPROMISING ROCK AND ROLL THAT HASN'T GOTTEN STALE ALTHOUGH ALOT OF THE CURRENT SO-CALLED MUSIC OF THE NEW FASHION MUSICIANS HAVE. HIS MUSIC ALWAYS SEEMED TO BE DARING AND INNOVATIVE.

My first exposure to Frank's music was in 1977 when after hearing Rush's 2112, a friend ran into the room with his "boom box" blaring the new Mahogany Rush Live album on cassette. "Man, wait 'til you hear this!!" And he cranked up Dragonfly as loud as the box would scream. We literally left the same moment to go buy the record. The quest was on to find anything Frank recorded and to see any show Frank would play in the SW Ohio area. Als, the changes that were to come made it more difficult to find his music. But just when you thought the story would have an unhappy ending, Frank stopped by a little pub in Dayton during the Full Circle tour. He sat with fans and had a drink and then preceeded to Jam the living daylights out of our expectations. From Strange Dreams to Poppy, our dreams came true... someone stilled cared about music enough to tell ticketmonster and all the radio stations that they could kiss his stratocaster! Frank, if you see this post, we all wish you the best - and although times do indeed change, your work is an immortal monument to all of us still crying your anthem in hopes that someday the world will truly rock again. A toast to you, Frank! Please stop by Dayton and blow an amp, will ya? We'll buy your CD as soon as it's done. Larry

Lets see you on stage again Frank. Great unique sound a self made man in the truest sense. I put World Anthem up there amongst the best albums ever written. Probably the most "complete" piece of work to come out of CBS.

Hey Frank, been listening to your music since Juggernaut was released. Heard "Strange Dreams" on the radio and had to buy it. Got all of your stuff after that. Looking forward to the new album. Hope there's some instrumentals on it. Take care.

Hi there, Mahogany Rush-fans. I've liked Mahogany Rush since the early eighties. Partly for Franks eminent guitar-playing skills and partly for the great rythm section (Jimmy Ayoub and Paul Harwood). I would really like to see Marino, but he is probably never coming to Sweden again!? Rock on Rickard

Back in the mid 70's while hanging out,my friend Bob,broke out a 8 track tape and poped ot in the deck and we kicked back and I was soon to be transported to the Strange Universe of Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush.I borrewed that tape and recorded it on cassette.Sadly that tape was recorded over and for the next 15 years I searched every record and music store thatI came across in search of the album thathad changed my musical taste.Unfortunitly, the album had gone out of print.I called record companies and still,no Frank.Finully in 1994 ,I came across the CD with just about all his albums on it .Needless to say,I have just about worn it out.Frank used to play at a club in my area but, every dam time he was there,I had to either work or,I missed him. So,Ihave never seen him live.It was rumored that, the drummer from Mahogany Rush was was giving drum lessons in Bradly Beach NJ but I am not sure how true that rumor was.The Song Moon Light Lady still to this day, takes me to a place where most men wont allow themselves to go.Moon Light Lady is a constant reminder of two very special who came into my life .The song Strange Universe ,was the song that really made me a fan . So rock on Frank. Although these kids today whom most have never heard of you, just don't know. What a shame .But there are a handful of us who do remember.I for one will never forget. Love and Peace to you and the boys in the band.

I FIRST SAW FRANK AT A SMALL 5,000 SEAT ARENA IN ERIE, PA. BACK IN 1978 OR 9. MY JAW HIT THE FLOOR AND STAYED THERE FOR THE NEXT HOUR AND A HALF! FRANK NEVER GOT THE RECOGNITION HE SO WELL DESERVED IN THOSE DAYS. RIGHT AFTER THAT SHOW I GOT SERIOUS ABOUT PLAYING GUITAR AND SOON FOUND OUT THAT EVERYONE WHO COULD REALLY BEND THE STRINGS IN MY HOMETOWN KNEW ABOUT MAHOGANY RUSH! THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION AND THE JOY OF HEARING YOU PLAY, FRANK!

Started listening with Child of the Novelty, but World Anthem is what still gets me. Just hanging out at the sand pits in the Jersey woods, getting stoned and trying to figure out how the hell a guy could play like that. Still can't believe most people just didn't get it. He never got close to the credit he deserved. Well keep rockin Frank, thanks.

Frank, if you happen to read this, I'd like you to know that you still have a large core of die hard, dedicated fans here in Chicago, who feel you have never gotten the credit you deserve as one of hard rock's premiere musicians, as an emissary of a psychadellic blues sound that has shaped contemporary rock and roll, and as a cat who churns out the tightest, most technically impressive, passionate guitar performances I have ever seen, regardless of venue size. If anyone deserves household name status, you're the man. But sadly, it seems, today, notoriety has come to mean little more than so much spin and hollow hype. Well if its any concillation, I'd just like to point out that though notoriety fades into mediocrity, the integrity of your work will never be lost. Your music means more to most of your fans than just the music. It represents someone with a talent who is true to his passions and his soul, a true artist--uncompromising and brilliant. Hope to see you on stage again, and hope you lay down a few more heavy psychadelic tracks for us. Until then, keep on rockin' brother, and your fans will keep the faith! Sincerely, Joel "Kuch" Kuchan

Its Begun to Rain is one of my all time favorite songs. I first heard Frank's music in '76 and have been a fan ever since. Thanks for the music Frank. What greater gift is there than to bring joy into the world through music?
